Saudi Red Sea resort Sindalah will welcome visiting superyachts at its planned repair facility.

Superyachts heading to the luxury Saudi Arabian  island of Sindalah will be able to put in for repairs at a huge facility planned for the NEOM resort in the Red Sea.

NEOM, one of Saudi’s so-called giga projects, will partner with superyacht maintenance company MB92 Group to establish the 10,000 square metre yard to cater for the expected influx of luxury vessels when the region opens up to tourism in 2024.

The facility will initially offer expertise in electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems and will accept any size vessel for in-water work and superyachts of up to 40 metres in length into its dry dock.

The centre will prioritize sustainability, according to the developers.

“This venture embodies our dedication to delivering world-class infrastructure and services to support yachts visiting the Red Sea,” said Aayush Killa, NEOM Islands executive director.
MB92 Group chairman Pepe García-Aubert added: “We envision this as merely the beginning of a lasting and meaningful collaboration, allowing us to provide the local yachting community with a world-class refit and repair service in this incredibly beautiful region with so much to offer.”

In June 2023, it was announced IGY Marinas is to develop and operate a new superyacht marina in Sindalah.

Neom is a planned “smart city” in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia with an area of around 26,500 km² launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in 2017. According to the developers, Neom will include multiple regions, including a floating industrial complex, a global trade hub, a 100-mile-long linear city (dubbed The Line) and tourist resorts —all powered by renewable energy sources.
