Mondomarine commences construction on the M40 Explorer
The construction of Mondomarine’s M40 Explorer is now underway at its shipyard in Savona.
The contract of sale was signed in April 2015 by a European owner. The vessel will be delivered in spring 2017.
Mondomarine have reported that the first steel plates have been assembled. Sergio Cutolo from HydroTec is responsible for the architecture and exterior design.
Construction of the M40 Explorer comes at an exciting time for the shipyard and the architects. Mondomarine is currently celebrating 100 years of activity in the shipbuilding industry whilst HydroTec has just celebrated its 20th anniversary of operations.
The M40 has a steel displacement hull and an aluminium alloy superstructure.
