AMELS model of 97-metre fullly custom project POLARIS (318 ft) has recieved lots of attention at the Monaco Yacht Show 2016. POLARIS is one of several new custom concept collaborations.

The model which was on the AMELS stand at the show highlights how the project is showing off AMELS as a high quality Northern European shipyard for large fully custom-built yachts. The shipyard’s return to Full Custom is a natural step forward, having invested in top facilites over the past few years and a bank of highly skilled workers.

“Since re-introducing our Full Custom offer to the market last year, we’ve seen a lot of enthusiasm and interest from clients, brokers and designers to work with AMELS,” says Hans Konings, AMELS Design Manager. “These custom concepts are a great starting point in our discussions about fully custom-built yachts.”

AMELS has a long history of working with both the top names from the superyacht design industry as well as up-and-coming talent.

The show was an opportunity for AMELS to show how they have developed their Full Custom offer, including their appointment of Manager Projects Custom Building, Roeland Berrevoets. Since 2003 Roeland has successfully managed many of AMELS’ most complex projects, including the 83-metre HERE COMES THE SUN (272 ft), the largest AMELS yacht built to date.

POLARIS is one in a line of several iconic fully custom yachts manufactured by AMELS, others include – ILONA, BOADICEA, LADY ANNE, MONTKAJ, SOLEMAR.
