ELIXIR debuts at Monaco Yacht Show 2016

AMELS have showcased their Limited Editions range at Monaco Yacht show with the debut of 55-metre ELIXIR.

ELIXIR is the latest manifestation of the successful AMELS 180 design. AMELS Limited Editions allows the owner to create a very personal and characteristic yacht, much more quickly than a full custom build. ELIXIR was delivered on budget, more than a week ahead of schedule.

Delivered in June 2016 8 months after signing, the exterior of the yacht was designed by Tim Heywood with Naval architecture by AMELS.  The interior was designed by Laura Sessa with substantial owner customisation to make the yacht an ideal showcase for the AMELS Limited Editions range.

The owner worked with both the interior and exterior designers to create a holistic design filled with exciting contrasts aiming for dark meets light with a relaxed comfortable feel with a clean contemporary style.

“We want to give the guest a different impression in different spaces on board the yacht,” Laura explains. “The range of textures, the patterns of foliage, mother of pearl and marble were part of this scope. The contrast of light and dark woods – bleached maple to ebony Macassar – make the interiors very scenographic.”

The 180 meter yacht boasts large outdoor spaces, with a 25 metres long Sun Deck (82 ft) including a large Jacuzzi. The 77 square-metre (828 sq ft) owner’s Suite on the main deck includes a spacious stateroom, Owner’s office, and private lounge with an exclusive folding balcony to integrate with the ocean.

Captain Simon Ladbrooke, commented as a representative of the owner saying “Looking at the quality of the interior, the finishing and the workmanship, I have a very critical eye and it’s just faultless, it really is. It’s quality that I can appreciate and understand. There’s been a great, great team working on this project.”

“On both sea trials, we arrived back at the shipyard early because all the tests had been carried out and completed without any issues at all. The vibration and the decibel level tests in all the guest and crew areas were well under what was stated in the specifications.” Ladbrooke added.

ELIXIR spent her first summer season cruising the Mediterranean with her owner. The superyacht is also available for charter with Y.CO.
