Fort Insurance to acquire YachtSafe Global

Fort Insurance is in advanced discussions to acquire YachtSafe Global LLC, a Florida-based insurance broker.

The Antibes, France-based superyacht broker will promote YachtSafe director Dylan Schwerdtfeger to president of Fort Insurance USA, with president John Gaffney moving to chairman.

Hugo Jacquot, managing director of Fort Insurance, said he was “very humbled” that the YachtSafe team wanted to join his operation.

“Having the Fort Insurance brand across the Atlantic will further enhance our fantastic relationships in the USA and I look forward to taking our business relationship with YachtSafe to another dimension,” said Jacquot.

Gaffney said: “It has been my great pleasure working with Hugo for many years in several very successful endeavours. The combination of two independent agencies, both located in the two yachting capitals of the world, makes perfect sense. This will provide additional benefits to our clients on a true global basis.”

Schwerdtfeger added: “I am certain that our new partnership with Fort Insurance will allow both offices to succeed in ways we would otherwise be unable to alone. I am excited for all of us at Fort Insurance and our new journey together.”
