Camper & Nicholsons welcome new ISM Manager

Camper & Nicholsons welcome Richard Williams as Yacht Management division.

Richard has sailed since he was 12 years old and raced in the Irish Sea and English Channel for many years. He graduated in 1995 from Newcastle University with a degree in Naval Architecture and joined the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in June 2003 as a policy manager, having previously worked for Lloyd’s Register as well as new build and ship repair projects for Vosper Thorneycroft.

In 2005 Richard acted as a marine surveyor for the MCA’s Southampton marine office, and was lead auditor for ISM, ISPS and MLC.

Richard has been involved in the survey and auditing of new build and existing large yachts for Ensign, the MCA’s large yacht unit, where he was also responsible for the development of LY3 and supported the development of the passenger yacht code.
