Tankoa and Camper & Nicholsons announce sale of third S501 hull
Tankoa Yachts has sold its S501 hull with the assistance of Fernando Nicholson of Camper & Nicholsons. Built on speculation, S501 is the third hull in the Genoan shipyard’s all-aluminium 50-metre series designed by Francesco Paszkowski and is due to be delivered to her owner later this year.
“This sale confirms the success of both the dynamic design by Paszkowski and our efficient technical platform,” said Giuseppe Mazza, sales manager at Tankoa. “The decision to begin building on spec was based on the extraordinary charter success of Vertige and the rapid sale of her hybrid-powered sister ship Bintador.”
A top speed of 18 knots is achievable via diesel propulsion and a semi displacement hull, according to Tankoa with a cruise speed is 14 knots. The layout is similar to other models in series with a beach club in the transom, a side-loading tender garage in the stern and fold-down terraces in the owner’s suite on the forward main deck.
However, there are two important variations. The main deck aft is dedicated exclusively to a sizeable lounge with a dining room on the upper deck, while the forward master stateroom features a private lounge that can be converted into an extra ensuite cabin.
Marketing S501, Tankoa claimed: “Her superior engineering and hull design makes her the most efficient yacht on the market with lowest consumption you ever heard of.”
The tri deck, 500gt vessel’s interior is to be designed and fitted out by Casadio Miami. Its exterior will feature a black painted hull and metallic grey and black superstructure. S501 is currently 75% complete ahead of its delivery later this year.
