Northrop & Johnson takes best Asia charter gong at Asia Boating Awards
For the second year in a row Northrop & Johnson has been named best Asia-based charter company at the 2016 Asia Boating Awards at the Singapore Yacht Show. The award ceremony is now in its 12th year.
Lies Sol, charter broker at Northrop & Johnson, said: “We were pleasantly surprised to win this award for a second year in a row.”
The company has offices in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia and Hong Kong in the Asia region.
Bart Kimman, Asia managing director at Northrop & Johnson, said: “Clearly, a good thing got better! Northrop and Johnson’s charter team won the coveted best charter broker in Asia for the second time in a row! We have a great team and they need to be celebrated.”
Shortly after the Second World War, Jim Northrop and George Johnson formed a partnership to provide a yacht brokerage service to their close circle of yachting companions on Long Island Sound.
The first Northrop & Johnson office opened in 1949 on Madison Avenue in lower Manhattan and served as the foundation for the fledging brokerage house. The Asia office opened in February 2010.
