An interview with Simon Rowland
Superyacht Investor: How long have you been in the industry?
Simon Rowland: Veritas was formed in the summer of 2004 to service the nascent superyacht security market.
Superyacht Investor: What is your favourite superyacht?
Simon Rowland: Any big, shiny white one but I do like other colours.
Superyacht Investor: What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Simon Rowland: In late 2005 we were contracted by a Gulf state to deliver armed security services to a private yacht at a time when End User Licences did not exist and neither did the term PMSC’s. Working with Dept Business, Enterprise and Skills (BIS) along with Customs & Excise as well as the Gulf State’s Authorities, and heavily relying upon the diplomatic status of the yacht, we eventually began a service which is still in place today.
Superyacht Investor: What advice would you give to superyacht owners?
Simon Rowland: Enjoy your amazing asset; don’t be put off by scare stories and travel: everything and everywhere is possible with appropriate planning and contingencies.
Superyacht Investor: What are you most looking forward to about Superyacht Investor London?
Simon Rowland: I hear that the canapes are tastier and the wine more chilled this year!!
Simon Rowland, Co-Founder & CEO at Veritas International, will be speaking at our upcoming Superyacht Investor London conference on the 3rd & 4th May at One Whitehall Place at The Royal Horseguards hotel.
