Coote replaces Denison as president, Denison Yachting

Patrick Coote replaces Bob Denison at Denison Yachting.
Patrick Coote has been made president of Denison Yachting to replace Bob Denison in a shake-up following the acquisition by OceanWorld Group.
Coote was vice president of superyacht brands at MarineMax following a spell as MD Europe, Northrop & Johnson.
Denison Yachting and OceanWorld Group announced a “strategic partnership” to combine Denison’s heritage and position in the US market with OceanWorld Group’s platform across Europe and the Middle East.
Denison’s new global strategy will combine “significant organic investment with a targeted acquisition programme” to grow its business across three key territories.

“Denison is one of those rare names in yachting that combines genuine heritage with enormous potential for the future,” says Coote, who will oversee the group’s global brokerage division. “The company has built an outstanding business in the United States, an exceptional reputation among its clients and, importantly, an incredibly strong team. The opportunity now is to build on those foundations and develop Denison on a truly international scale.
“As we grow, our people will be at the heart of everything we do. My focus internally will be on our people just as much as our focus externally is on our clients. Denison has already created an exceptional environment for brokers, supported by some of the best tools, technology and systems in the industry. I want to build on that, ensuring our existing teams have every opportunity to succeed while making Denison an increasingly compelling destination for the very best talent in the industry.”
Lydia Pascarelli, CEO, OceanWorld Group, said Coote’s appointment reflects the “scale of our ambition” for the brand.
“We believe the opportunity ahead is considerably greater,” she says. “Patrick brings a rare breadth of international superyacht experience and is exceptionally well placed to help lead this next phase of growth.”
Coote will work alongside Denison’s CEO, Bryan Braley, in a move to “further strengthen” the company’s leadership team.
Bob Denison joined his father Kit to lead Denison Yacht Sales in the early 2000s after the family pivoted into brokerage from Denison Marine, a boat builder founded in 1983.
The business, including sales, charter, yacht management and crew placement, was acquired by US giant OneWater Marine in 2022.
His grandparents Frank and Gertrude Denison started boat-building Broward Marine in Florida in 1948.
