Yachtglass joins German shipbuilder group Deutsche Yachten

Superyacht glass specialist Yachtglass has joined German superyacht construction collective, Deutsche Yachten. The group is part of the German boat and shipbuilder association, Deutscher Boots und Schiffsbauer-Verband (DBSV).

Based in Dersum, Lower Saxony, Yachtglass has operated in the superyacht industry since 2001, specialising in installing glass systems on superyachts over 100m (328ft). The firm of 20 employees performs annual service and maintenance work on its clients’ yachts and  offers project and construction management options.

Silvia Buck, MD, Yachtglass said: “The membership with Deutsche Yachten is not only a great figurehead for potential customers but will certainly also allow us some synergies with the other members in the future.”

Yachtglass is also a subsidiary of glass finishing conglomerate, Hero Group. According to Claus-Ehlert Meyer, MD, Deutsche Yachten, Yachtglass brings supply chain synergies to Deutsche Yachten that will ultimately benefit the wider working group.

“The backing from the Hero Group makes Yachtglass a valuable member that I would like to warmly welcome to Deutsche Yachten,” said Meyer.
