Flagging up the launch: this is the moment of truth for the first hull in the new Kando series of explorer yachts from Turkish builder AvA Yachts.

Turkish superyacht builder AvA Yachts has launched the 33.6m Kando – the first hull in its new Kando series of explorer yachts.

Featuring a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the vessel is powered by Volvo-Penta Commercial Marine Engines, which offer a top speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of more than 6,000 nautical miles.

The luxury yacht displaces 320GT and is equipped with Furuno navigation electronics, Sleipner bow and stern thrusters and fin stabilisers and Kohler Marine generators.

Owner’s master suite cabin

Designed, styled and engineered in-house, the vessel has four decks with an accommodation layout offering five double guest cabins. Located at the fore main deck is a full beam, 27 sqm owner’s master suite cabin with full-height windows located at the fore main deck. The interior design features high-gloss finished American Walnut in combination with high-gloss finished Wenge and dark leather furniture together with satin Wenge flooring mixed with carpet and off-white upholstery.

The vessel offers a jacuzzi on the flybridge, transformer swimming platform and wide exterior seating and sunbathing areas. A crew of seven is planned.

Commenting after the launch at the yard in Antalya on Friday July 19th, the firm’s chairman and founder Atilla Küçükdiker said: “Today is a proud day for myself and the immensely-dedicated and highly skilled team of workers at AvA Yachts as Kando begins her life in the water.

‘The culmination of a dream’

“She is the culmination of a dream, of a vision, and we are honoured and humbled to be able to show her off to the long-range cruising community worldwide. We have designed, engineered, and meticulously constructed her as a super-strong and sturdy ship with a phenomenal commercial equipment level and superyacht interior quality and build.”

Kando will soon depart for the Côte d’Azur to take part in the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The vessel is offered for sale at €8,499,000 (£7,618,929).

The Kando series of Contemporary Explorer Superyachts comprises: the Kando 90, Kando 110, Kando 120, and Kando 130. A second 110 is currently in build, it is understood.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Superyacht Investor reported the plans of fellow Turkish superyacht builder Alia Yachts to open a new 16,000 sqm construction facility in Antalya to assemble large yachts under cover.

Kando is preparing to depart for the Mediterranean to debut at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
