YachtCreators won acclaim with superyacht designs such as Laurentia by Heesen.

Superyacht firm YachtCreators has forged a strategic partnership with Delta Carbon, the North American importer for Swedish carbon-fibre boat builder Delta Powerboats.

The Fort Lauderdale-based YachtCreators will take over the management, sales and promotion of Delta Carbon. Its founder Barin Cardenas has been appointed Delta Carbon CEO and will oversee key areas such as operations, sales and marketing and business strategy.

“YachtCreators is renowned for innovative yachts of exceptional design and build quality,” said Cardenas. “Delta Powerboats fits our mould well, with its line-up of versatile, carbon-fibre powerboats, with those striking exterior lines.”

In contrast to the current trend of ever-changing interiors, Delta Powerboats had held firm to its Scandinavian aesthetic, which “YachtCreators’ clients genuinely appreciate”, added Cardenas.

YachtCreators has more than 60 new builds to its credit. The company has won acclaim with award-winning yachts such as the 55m Laurentia by Heesen. The steel-and-aluminum vessel, designed with a fast-displacement hull, was delivered in September 2017.

Cardenas commented on his website that he had been associated with more than 50 builds. “The projects have been equally varied – sportfish boats, long-range trawlers, high-speed motoryachts, catamarans, superyachts and even an all-electric tender that broke a world speed record!”

Delta Carbon founder Chapman Ducote will remain with the organisation in a yacht ambassador role. He will focus on promoting the Delta Carbon brand in the Americas, using his social media presence and other contacts.

“The opportunity to join forces with Barin Cardenas, Whitten Hall [creative director] and the rest of the crew at YachtCreators is exciting on multiple levels,” said Ducote. “This partnership leverages the Delta Carbon brand for massive expansion in the Americas, which has been a top priority for us all along.”

Delta Carbon’s base of operations will move from North Miami to YachtCreators’s headquarters in Fort Lauderdale’s Marina Mile.

Delta Powerboats, based in Saaremaa, central Sweden, offers premium sport luxury yachts, ranging in size up to 27m in GRP composite and carbon fibre construction variants. The company plans to showcase its soon-to-be launched Hull #4 of its 88 series this autumn at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The show takes place in Fort Lauderdale from Wednesday October 30th to Sunday November 3rd.
