Sanlorenzo acquires Equinoxe Yachts
Sanlorenzo has acquired charter and sales brokerage Equinoxe Yachts for a €2.1m. Around 10% of the sum will be paid to Equinoxe over the next three years.
The Italian shipyard said that the decision to acquire Equinoxe Yachts was made due to Sanlorenzo’s plan to grow its charter business, which will be managed by both firms.
“We are happy to welcome Equinoxe into the Sanlorenzo family,” said Massimo Perotti, president and CEO, Sanlorenzo. He added that Equinoxe Yachts has the necessary skills to develop the Sanlorenzo charter fleet.
Torino-based Equinoxe Yachts was founded by Corrado Di Majo and Alessandro Ussi in 1986. Both now act as president and CEO respectively. Over a 30 year period, the brokerage has sold over 500 yachts and completed over 10,000 charter contracts.
Perotti said that operations between the firms aims to work in tandem with further investments the company is making in sustainability, technology and the supply chain.
