RMK Merrill Stevens has hired Marco Santoro as CEO and revealed plans to further expand the firm’s brokerage.

Founded in 1866, the Miami-based outfit offers refit and repair services for superyachts up to 250ft (76m) at its dual shipyard facilities located on both sides of the Miami river.

“Our company has an incredible heritage,” said Santoro. “I’m extremely proud to have been appointed as the new CEO.”

A naval architect and marine engineer by trade, Italian national Santoro previously held leadership positions at the Ferretti Group over two decades, culminating as the company’s vice president of Refit and Retail.

RMK Merrill Stevens also buys and sells superyachts up to 240ft through its brokerage house, Merrill Stevens Yachts. Santoro added that he aims to expand the sales division of the brand by “acquiring new dealership opportunities”.

The new CEO said he also aims to bolster the firm’s workforce. “We are strengthening our team and the way we operate. I believe in creating an environment where people love to come to work and collaborate.” Santoro added that this will drive the growth of the company.

The Neapolitan native said his primary objective as CEO is to enhance customer experience. “I know our industry very well and understand that each client is an asset for our company,” he said. “My main goal is to enhance our clients’ journey. This means being able to listen to our clients’ needs and expectations and deliver to them the highest quality experience.”
