Heesen Yachts acquired by Dutch entrepreneur

Dutch entrepreneur and investor Laurens Last has completed the full acquisition of Heesen Yachts in a move that secures the yacht builder’s future and reinforces its commitment to innovation, craftsmanship and delivering exceptional luxury yachts, according to the company.
A passionate yachtsman, Last brings wide business experience to his new role. “This acquisition is more than an investment – it’s a dream,” said Last. “Heesen represents the pinnacle of Dutch engineering and maritime craftsmanship. I am honoured to take the ownership and ensure the brand continues to flourish for generations to come.”
Founded in 1978, the luxury yacht builder reported a record-breaking financial performance last year as revenue reached €209m with EBITDA totalling €17m. Heesen facilities include its shipyard and in-house luxury interior division.
Niels Vaessen, CEO, Heesen Yachts said: “We are thrilled to welcome Laurens Last to the Heesen family. His profile is a perfect fit: a successful Dutch entrepreneur with a genuine passion for yachting. His vision and commitment will enable us to preserve the legacy our clients value while propelling Heesen into an exciting future.”
The acquisition will boost Heesen’s drive towards innovative yacht design using the latest technology, said the yacht builder. “With its return to Dutch ownership, Heesen is set to build on its legacy, ready to embark on a path of stable growth, committed to delivering unique yachting experiences to its owners.”
