Heesen Yachts HY17650

Heesen Yachts has launched its latest superyacht project named YN 17650 (Project Akoya), a 50-metre semi-displacement yacht, during a private ceremony. The yacht was unveiled on Friday (1 April).

YN 17650 is the fifth in the award-winning 50-metre class and has a “shark grey” hull and exterior styling by Omega Architects.

Four defined deck areas provide separate spaces: a foredeck for relaxation, a large 70-square metre sun deck, shaded dining on the upper deck aft terrace and a multifunctional main deck aft.

Heesen said that “space has been optimised” throughout and that the YN 17650 has the “highest possible internal volume under the 500GT threshold”.

The vessel can accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms. The master suite is located on the main deck, while the remaining guest cabins are on the lower deck and include a full-beam VIP space, two twins – that can transform into doubles – and two doubles, all with ensuite bathrooms.

YN 17650 will undergo intensive sea trials in the North Sea where it is expected to reach a top speed of 23 knots. It will be delivered to its owner in June 2016.
