De Vries to retire as Feadship director

Feadship figurehead Henk de Vries III will retire as director of the company and CEO of Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw on 1 May 2025.

De Vries, who joined the family company in 1987, will remain as a brand ambassador for Feadship and a non-executive board member at Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw and shareholder.

Roderick de Vries will take over as CEO and operational director, with Bas Nederpelt as chief commercial officer and Feadship director.

“The four members of our new executive board bring with them over eighty years of De Vries experience. Their deep understanding of the company ensures it is in very capable hands,” said De Vries III.

He became a director and shareholder of Feadship in 1996, alongside cousin Tom de Vries. The pair helped expand De Vries to seven operating companies and more than 1,200 employees. De Vries is still family owned and owns 50% of Feadship.

As a advocate of sustainability, De Vries III co-founded the Water Revolution Foundation in 2018 and continues to serve as chairman of the board.
