Construction of AMELS 272 underway
AMELS are currently constructing the largest ever yacht built at their shipyard in Vlissingen; the first AMELS 272.
This week, its 120 tonne aluminium superstructure was lifted over the 83 metre steel hull, requiring three cranes. The Dutch manufacturer’s craftsmen are currently joining the two together. The task, completed in the newly commissioned 200-metre drydock, was the heaviest crane lift ever completed at AMELS.
British designer Tim Heywood is responsible for the design of the AMELS 272, with interiors by Your Desired Designer.
The AMELS 272 will be delivered in late 2016. The shipyard will deliver three other superyachts this year; 55 metre La Familia in May, 55 metre Vega in June and 60 metre Madame Kate in June.
