BWA Yachting opens office in Cyprus
BWA Yachting has opened a new office in Limassol Marina (pictured), Cyprus. It will be headed by the new director of BWA Yachting Cyprus, Petros Josephides.
“[I am] extremely happy to be a part of this important and highly-esteemed company,” said Josephides.
The international superyacht agency supports captains with shore assistance, provisioning and supplies, logistics solutions, and events.
The new BWA Yachting Cyprus office opened in time for the Limassol Boat Show, which starts today (14th October). Nikiforos Pampakas, general manager, Limassol Marina and marina manager, Tom Lord previously told Superyacht Investor (SYI) they are experiencing demand all year round due to the marina’s geographic location.
“We set out originally to create a new opportunity for yacht owners in the region,” he said. “The marina is well-positioned for those who want to keep their yachts in the Med all year round, particularly the winter months.”
Limassol marina is the first purpose-built superyacht marina in Cyprus. Since first opening in 2013, the marina has accommodated more than 9,000 yachts, some of which are up to 140m (460ft). Construction formally finished this year.
The facility now encompasses 170,000sqm (42 acres) of sea area and has 500 annual berths, in a bid to make Cyprus a year-round yachting destination for the East Mediterranean region and yachts travelling to and from the Middle East.
BWA Yachting recently opened new offices in Egypt.
Yann Prat, chief sales officer, BWA Yachting said: “After Greece and Egypt, adding Cyprus to our map will further expand BWA Yachting’s footprint in the East Med and allow us to offer a better cruising experience to our clients.”
