Daniele Romiti joins Italian shipbuilder Azimut as general manager. The news follows announcements of new international partnerships from the Azimut-Benetti Group.

An aeronautical engineer, Romiti has spent most of his career at Anglo-Italian helicopter design and manufacturing company, AgustaWestland. In his new role, he will report directly to Azimut-Benetti Group CEO, Marco Valle.

“I am thrilled to have joined the Azimut team,” said Romiti. “And strongly stimulated to give my contribution to the growth path that the company has started and further strengthened with important investments.”

At AugustaWestland, he held the positions of chief operating officer and then CEO, heading the company during the integration with Leonardo. After the merger, he became MD of the Helicopter Division.

The appointment follows a recent expansion for the group. It has signed an exclusive deal with Wally Castro Marine as its broker for the Puerto Rico market.

Azimut has also signed a partnership with RCMarine, making it the brand’s official broker for France. This is after RCMarine completed the acquisition of V Marine France, which previously represented Azimut in the French territory.

Ronan Chabot, CEO, RCMarine, said:  “We are excited to contribute to the performance of this exceptional brand and to continue its development in France.”

Vincenzo Soria, MD, V Marine Group added: “I am proud of the results achieved in France and the agreement concluded with RCMarineI am sure that they will be able to pick up the baton in the best possible way and give even greater prestige to the Azimut brand.”
