Azimut-Benetti Group records 168 projects under construction

Azimut-Benetti Group has reported 168 projects under construction as of the end of 2022.

The Italian shipbuilders’ portfolio now reaches into 2027, with the company reporting superyachts under construction in 2022 reaching a total production value of €1.2bn.

With the backlog also totalling 5,991m in length, Azimut-Benetti leads the Global Order Book by Boat International for the 23rd time in a row for both length and number of projects under construction.

Azimut- Benetti Group also said it plans to invest €130m in research and development over the next three years, to continue producing yachts that reduce fuel consumption by up to 30%.

The shipyard’s workforce has also been invested in throughout 2022. Its Sea Your Future programme saw over 600 candidates from European universities be given the opportunity to join the shipbuilder, with Azimut-Benetti reporting a 10% growth in new hires across all divisions since the scheme began.

The group also added that it owes its record to 53 years of being a “family-run business”, along with its network of 80 dealers globally to its success and strong order book.
