Superyacht manufacturer Perini Navi is to launch Sybaris a new 70 metre vessel presently under construction. The project has been designed in house by the Perini Navi technical and design office with naval architecture consultation and sail plan optimisation from Philippe Briand.

The hull and superstructure will be cast in aluminium, while the rig will be carbon fibre. It also has two Rondal masts of 72 and 62 metres in height, hosting a total sail area of more than 3000 square metres.

The displacement of the vessel is optimised at 927 tons and the gross registered tonnage is 870 making Sybaris the second largest Perini Navi sailing vessel ever built.

Peter Hawrylewicz, founder of PH Design who worked on the interiors for the project, said: “Working closely with the owner, we wanted to create an interior that would be perceived as special and original in the yachting world.

“The overall effect is modern with a remote reminiscence of old world travel; the allure lies in the confluence of these two temperaments.”

The designers used high quality materials including titanium both structurally and artistically for the construction.
