Pearl Yachts has partnered with Hong Kong-based VP Yachts, which will now act as the British shipyard’s official representative in Asia.

Iain Smallridge, MD, Pearl Yachts said: “We always celebrate growth and new friends, especially in affluent and interesting markets, but to see our British brand now properly entering Hong Kong, uniting two seafaring cultures with shared history in a venture is a source of special satisfaction.

Operations will be headed by VP Yachts founder and director Vivian Chan, who also manages her family’s Sun Hing Shipyard located in Hong Kong main harbour.

As Pearl Yachts looks to expand further into the Asian market, Smallridge said that Chan has “opened a window for the brand in the far east”.

Given the company’s portfolio and experience, Pearl’s MD said that VP Yachts have “just what Pearl needs to succeed in a competitive market.”

One of the brands more popular models is the 95ft (29m) Peal 95, which can host 10 guests and 5 crew on board. Baxter Marine currently has a 2021 build for sale at 2021 €7.9m (£6.8m).

Chan said: “The style of Pearl Yachts’ instantly recognisable flybridges fits perfectly with the tastes in our local market with British allure and a neutral, sober colour palette a winning proposal to our market.”

Given the company’s portfolio and experience, Pearl’s MD said that VP Yachts have “just what Pearl needs to succeed in a competitive market.”

Pearl Yachts  has continued to grow throughout this year, expanding its offering to the market with the Pearl 62 and Pearl 72 models. Smallridge said that the new models were instrumental in the company’s order book reaching $50m earlier this year.

VP Yachts also represents Dufour Yachts, Sessa Marine and Pyxis Yachts in Asia.
