German yacht builder Nobiskrug has partnered with global charity YachtAid to support its humanitarian efforts in the Caribbean following an unprecedented hurricane season.

In support of the Superyacht Aid Coalition, YachtAid is utilising its network of vessels to deliver relief aid. Nobiskrug will join the network of partners to help ramp up delivery of critical aid.

The first stage of the partnership will see Nobiskrug offer its 68 metre SYCARA V superyacht to deliver a relief shipment to Antigua within the next three weeks.

“The destruction we have seen from Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the beautiful Caribbean islands is saddening. We are pleased to be able to offer our support in a moment of need,” said Holger Kahl, managing director of Nobiskrug.

The partnership between Nobiskrug and YachtAid was established at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

More than 40 million people in 15 Caribbean islands were affected this hurricane season. Countries affected include; Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, the US and British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Puerto Rico, St.Barthélemy, St Maarten and the Turks and Caicos.

Yacht Aid Global’s general manager, Captain Tim Forderer, said: “We thank Nobiskrug for their leadership, support and trust in Yacht Aid Global and look forward to exploring the many ways we can use our synergy, resources and talents to benefit the people of the Caribbean. I am deeply grateful for Nobiskrug to be the first ship and yacht builder to be such a vocal advocate of this important cause.”
