Laurent Giles celebrate 90 years of yacht design
Laurent Giles, recognised for being the most independent yacht designers and naval architects in the world, is celebrating its 90th anniversary and 1400th yacht project in 2017.
Founded by Jack Laurent Giles in 1972, he established himself as a pioneer in design and construction techniques. He was the first to design an all-aluminium offshore racing yacht called Gulvain in the 1960s.
In the past 90 years, Laurent Giles has identified a relationship with many shipyards and builders including Lurssen, Abeking & Rasmussen, Nobiskrug, Fincantieri, Benetti, DML, Pendennis and Viareggio Superyachts.

Currently, Laurent Giles is focusing on developments in the construction materials such as hybrid diesel, electric pod drive propulsion systems and communications and navigation.
