Keystone expands marine team
Keystone have expanded their marine team with hire of experienced yachting lawyer and ex Royal Navy officer, Jonathan Hadley-Piggin.
Jonathan joins as a Consultant Solicitor.
Jonathan’s expertise lies in the national and international yachting sector, where he undertakes a broad mix of banking, commercial, employment and litigation work. His client base comprises international banks and yacht owners. In addition, Jonathan advises marine businesses, crews of superyachts and other leisure marine operators such as yacht management companies and marinas.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Jonathan spent over a decade at sea, serving first, as a deck officer with BP Shipping and then as a navigating officer in the Royal Navy, latterly in the submarine service – before “coming ashore” to train with a leading international law firm.
Alongside his legal practice, Jonathan is a regular speaker at industry events, writes training publications for the marine sector and lectures and is an examiner on the MCA Master of Yachts qualification course.
“Jonathan is well known and respected within the yachting industry,” explains Keystone’s Managing Director, James Knight.
“We are delighted that he chose to join Keystone. His arrival will complement our budding marine practice, and his experience will reinforce our capabilities to serve marine and shipping clients in the UK and beyond.”
Jonathan said of his appointment, “Keystone is earning a reputation in the marine legal sector. The firm has expressed its desire to further develop this offering and I am enthusiastic to be a part of this strategy which focuses on my key practice area. This career move represents a great opportunity, not only for myself, but for my clients as well.”
