Horizon Yachts have launched their E78 motoryacht.

The 24 metre vessel has a hydraulic Hi-Lo hardtop and folding radar mask, allowing the yacht to easily cruise under fixed-height bridges. The Hi-Lo hardtop’s custom hydraulic system enables the height of the yacht to be reduced from 28’11 to 20’5″ (8.8 metres to 6.2 metres).

“At Horizon, we pride ourselves in providing creative solutions to the design and usability issues that our clients face,” said Roger Sowerbutts, Director of Horizon Yacht USA. “We understand that many who boat up North in the summer, specifically in the Great Lakes area, are restricted in their cruising locations, and in the size yacht they can enjoy, due to fixed bridge heights. This location-specific design we created for the E
78, with her unprecedented hydraulic hard top, was our answer to that problem, and she retains features that will appeal to boaters in the southern areas like Florida and the Bahamas as well.”

The E78 will be delivered to an American owner in May 2015.

Horizon Yachts also launched the first E88 open flybridge motoryacht in May earlier this year. The 27.24 metre vessel is scheduled to be delivered to her owner in the United States this month.
