Floating Life signs contract for 40m project

Floating Life Charter & Brokerage have signed a contract for the development of a new project.

Construction of this 40 metre Light Ice Class project will begin in 2016, with The Studio Sculli of Sarzana, Italy responsible for naval architecture and design.

The owner wishes to take this vessel on lengthy polar expeditions so the design brief was for a yacht under 500 GT, easy to manage, with few crew members. She will have a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure.

Andrea Pezzini, Floating Life CEO, is the project manager. He is currently finalising the international bidding for the project’s construction.

He said: “We are very excited with this new challenge that will require the Project Management Division to enter into close contact with a several top level international yards. Presently we are tightly working with several yards from the United States and Italy to be able to offer the owner the maximum service and quality as he requested. During the next two months we will unveil the name of the yard that will carry out the construction of the 40 meter Expedition Light Ice Class.”
