Enjoy your untippable tipple aboard a Princess Yacht
An ‘untippable’ martini glass could become the prized possession for any future customers of UK superyacht manufacturers, Princess Yachts.
The unique design was the brain child of Andres Boraita, a student at Plymouth College of Art.
Boraita and a team from Princess Yachts have recently returned from the Dusseldorf Boat Show in Germany where nearly 250,000 guests were given the opportunity to test the glass for themselves.
In October 2018, Princess Yachts invited a group of students from Plymouth College of Art to receive a brief to design an ‘untippable’ martini glass.
The winning design needed to demonstrate a clear solution to the brief considering practicality and usability, exceptional quality and craftsmanship both in the product and packaging, be commercially viable and be designed with a luxury yacht customer in mind.
Speaking to Plymouth Live Boraita said: “I met so many people in Düsseldorf who wanted to talk about my working methods and inspiration.
“It was thrilling to discuss my design process with visitors, who were eager to find out how they could own a set of the glasses that I designed.”
In October when the final designs were unveiled Kiran Haslam, Marketing Director at Princess Yachts, said: “We were totally blown away with the entries and feel truly fortunate to have the future leaders of industry in a unique talent pool, right here in Plymouth.”
