Construction underway on the Explorer K42
Construction of Floating Life’s second Explorer K series yacht, the K42, is underway at the yacht builder Cantiere Delle Marche’s shipyard.
The K42’s hull is now complete, deck structures are close to completion and on-board systems are being installed. The vessel is also undergoing verification to be prepared for painting.
The explorer concept is a custom model, standing at 42.8 metres long, a max beam of 9.4 metres and five decks tall. When complete, it will have a range of 5,000 nautical range at 10 knots.
K42s stucco will be 4mm thick, instead of the normal 10-20mm to give a trimmer appearance.
Owner’s upper deck will stretch across the entire upper deck, including an owners cabin, two bathrooms, salon and Jacuzzi on a 75m2 deck.
The main deck has a storage for an 11 metre tender, spacious living zone and two guest cabins with their own bathrooms. There is additional space for a six metre tender, jet ski and SUV forward on the deck.
Below deck, there are two double cabins with crew quarters at the bow. engine room, storage space, night generator area, and control room are also located below deck.
