Superyacht Aria SF caught fire while off the island of Formentera, Spain. The vessel was delivered to its owner in July.

The 150ft (44m) superyacht, built by ISA Yachts was delivered to Paolo Scudieri, president of car parts supplier Adler-Hp Pelzer Group.

The yacht caught fire on Thursday afternoon while anchored on the west coast of Formentera. The Spanish sea search and rescue agency says that all seven crew members and nine passengers on the ship were unharmed and evacuated to other boats. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The yacht was towed to Ibiza harbour on Friday.

Superyacht Aria SF is flagged in Malta so will meet the IMO fire safety systems code. This would have included automatic sprinkler or mist systems.

Aria SF was due to debut at the Cannes and Monaco yacht shows in September.
