84m order for ICON Yachts

ICON Yachts have recently taken an order for their biggest new construction project so far.

The 84 metre superyacht is scheduled for completion in summer 2017. The shipyard told Superyacht Investor that the vessel is being constructed under the project name ICON 280.

Jen Wartena, CEO of ICON Yachts said “This projectwill be the largest yacht to date that ICON Yachts has built. We are excited to have been rewarded with the construction of this project with such  fantastic pedigree.”

The vessel will reportedly reach top speeds of 17 knots and feature an 8 metre glass bottomed pool.

Tim Heywood will be responsible for the design.

ICON Yachts’ last projects were the refits of ICON and Sherakhan in 2014. 68 metre ICON was originally launched in 2010 whilst 70 metre Sherakhan was built in 1965 and recommissioned in 2005.
